So on Wednesday the new Apple TV was unveiled. The original Apple TV was released back in ’07, but never really caught on. However the new Apple TV is a major improvement over the original. It will likely be very successful, and at the same time help to revolutionize the entertainment industry as we know it.
So what’s different? (more..)
Think you’re stuck with your current bills? You can’t do anything to lower them, right? What about that medical bill from when you’re wife went to the hospital, that’s a fixed amount right? Wrong!
There are many things in this world that can’t be changed, but your bills aren’t always in this category. Over the last two days I made 2, 15 minute phone calls that saved me over $300 for this year. (more..)
Over the last 12 hours I’ve had the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I have a conference I’m going to in New York next month, and was trying to book a hotel and flight. I saw that the hotel I wanted was on Expedia, and they had it at the best price. So I decided to book it. That’s where everything went wrong.
When I got to the final page, input my credit card information and click “Submit”, the page refreshes and tells me the price has increased about $70. I tried it again about an hour later, exact same flights and hotel, and it started with the same original price I had before, then increases it to the exact same amount it jumped to previously when I try to checkout. I tried a different package, and it also jumped about $70 when I tried to check out. At this point it’s starting to look like a scam to me, but I decide to give them the benefit of the doubt, and call one of their agents. (more..)

Last Thursday I finally went and got my very own iPad. Honestly, I’ve barely been able to put the thing down. I know there are a lot of neigh-sayers out there who say it’s a waste of money or some crap like that. All I have to say is, now that I’ve got one and been able to use it for a few days, you’re wrong.
Honestly it is the perfect combination of computing and convenience. It has all the functionality that I need out of a portable computer, without any of bulk that accompanies even the smallest of laptops. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a laptop since I was 13. But in my opinion, if you’re looking for something simple and convenient, there’s nothing better than the iPad. (more..)
I was recently talking to someone about how he spends his time. He was spending extra time playing video games that he didn’t like because he was invested in the story. He contended that he wouldn’t pay for the game, but because he borrowed them and they were therefore free, it was worth it. I then asked him how many hours he would likely invest in the game. He answer about 15 hours. I then asked him how much he makes per hour at his job, $10. So apparently his time is worth $10 per hour, and at 15 hours that game would essentially cost him $150.
Today, most people are much more flippant with their time than they are with their money. The waste time on TV shows they don’t really like, or reading books they don’t enjoy, or doing tasks that aren’t that important and won’t contribute to their future success. A simple solution to help you determine if your time is spent wisely is to (more..)
