Should Chivalry be Taught in School?

My wife sent me a link to an article she read the other day. I personally think this teacher is a hero.  The article is about a teacher who started instructing his students in the ways of proper etiquette in regards to how men should treat women.  He instructed the gentlemen in his class to stand when a lady enters a room, how to seat a lady and other acts of respect that are utterly lost in our society.

This is something that is extremely important if we want are daughters to grow up in a safe world.  There are many who would look at these actions as sexist.  They might think that chauvinism.  Let’s take a look.  Since the distinction between masculinity and femininity was demonized during the feminist movement, women are in more danger than ever.  Rape is up, murder is up, teen pregnancy is up, single mothers are up.  How has this worked out for us so far?  Were the 1950′s perfect?  No, there never was a “perfect” time.  However there are values that we have lost and chivalry is one of them.

Men and women are different, and should be treated differently.  Women ought to be treated with respect and dignity, like a lady.  Boys and girls actually learn differently.  I personally am in favor of boys and girls being instructed in all boy/girl classrooms as opposed to coed.  This stupid notion that we have to treat boys and girls the same must end.  If it doesn’t, it will mean our end.  Believe me, my wife doesn’t want me to treat her like my guy friends.  Guys are rough, and mean to each other.  This teacher recognized that this isn’t how a lady should be treated, and did something about it.  And guess what, the ladies in his class love it.  I guarantee those gentlemen in his class will grow up to be some of the most successful students from that school.

My two cents.  God bless

Great article, thank you. I am very interested in finding a diet that lowers my sugar intake. I currently have a sweet-tooth, and am finding it difficult to find meal plans, what to eat for snacks, etc. While diabetes is not something that runs in my family, I am still concerned and would like to be smart and take a proactive approach to my health.
